your name is Donovan and you're Irish!

St. Patrick's Day card for a certain little Irish lad....
found the idea on Pinterest....

Got a Heart stamp?  Then you can make a lucky shamrock....just add a stem with a colored pencil!

little canvases and a question....

a couple of little (2 x 2") canvases all grunged with paints, inks, stencils and washi tape, distress crayons
added a button flower bouquet.  the "vases" are bolo tie end pieces found at the gem show a few years ago.

then I found a few of these folios stashed away in a storage container.
tried covering the left one with tissue paper but it didn't do too well around the folds.  and neither did the inside liner papers.
so the question is...how long do you spend trying to fix something before moving on?

oh, the one on the right was colored with oxide distress inks.  it turned out very nice.  I may add a few
black outlined flower stamps.  the inside is colored the same way so I don't have to worry about anything adhering flat.

I will continue to play with that one.

and a new (one and only) scrapbook store will be opening here in Tucson....soon!!  not sure I mentioned this but I'm getting pretty excited....

wish you were here

 I highly recommend this book!

Wish You Were Here by Jodi Picoult.  That's all I'm gonna say.

Well, that and.....wow!

Also reading The Red Tent by Anita Diamant and The Boy From the Woods by Harlan Coben.

We have watched several of his novels to movies on Netflex - so I needed to see how closely his work influenced the movies...of course this book isn't one yet but it could give me some insight.

working on some art journals, too.  I will post pics soon.

Spring is not too far behind!

shopping

well, the shelves are pretty empty at Michaels.  Hobby Lobby was a little better but there wasn't anything there I needed.

good news though, BlueMoon Scrapbook store is re-opening!!!  it may be a few weeks before that happens but they now have a storefront and are stocking the place.

there is some house remodeling happening here and in a house this size (small!) that means the craft area is pretty limited.

I'll keep you posted on our progress with the new bathroom area!!

a little gardening today.....

Dollar Tree Jenga blocks, buttons, wire, paint, floss, ribbon and alphabet stamps.
A fun project on a snowy day...at least on the news.
Oh, those are votive holders in the background and a tiny canvas (2 x 2) to give you an idea of size.

And, be aware....they are addicting. I have more blocks glued and painted.  An assortment of buttons are ready to go and the hearts have been shaped and twisted.
I made the holes in the blocks with an awl.  The stems are not glued in so I can re-arrange them if I want to "replant".

just letting you know....

this is not my favorite time of year.

If anything creative happens before then I will let you know.

Stay healthy and have a good holiday.

still building.....

and learning alot as I go....
glue matters!  but glitter can hide messy areas
the process gets faster with experience, too.
they are sort of addicting, especially if you live in a colorful housing neighborhood....like Tucson.
