whaaaaaat! how hot is it????????

it's hot!
the good thing about it - well there is more than one, but I have been staying inside during the day  and getting classes ready for a September visit to Michigan.
Watch for news on those soon.

notice the time and the temperature.  pay no attention to the humidity.  the machine doesn't show anything below 19.  According to the weather reports, the humidity is 9%!
Staying hydrated is a must!!  and that takes a lot of water.

We should get a break tomorrow, after all it is now Monsoon season so let the rains begin (40% chance tomorrow!!).

daydreaming.....

Nothing gets your pulse beating faster or snaps you back to reality while running than the sight of a rattlesnake less than 2 feet away from your foot!

Makes you jump pretty darn high, too!!!!

I am okay........

back!

sometimes I just want to be quick about it and create/clean up in very little time.  that's what I did today.
one layer cards using stamps, archival ink, distress ink, watercolor brush and masks.

I did purchase a new set of stamps while on my journey during the past two weeks.  I have wanted it for a while and when I saw it, I decided not to wait any longer.......

I really liked the circles and butterflies.  The rest of the stamps were an added bonus:  great words and the butterfly angel will be fun to use.  Prima/Finnabair #962005:  Don't Forget to Fly

And, I played in my new Art Journal, too.........photo heavy..........

yeah, I really like drawing little kids.  There can be a very simplistic design with them.  Color gets added after a few days of design.  And the last two will be landscapes.
My method is pretty simple, when I find something I like, I draw it in my journal - copy it from the original artist.  Then I work to create my own style.
And here is one of my best landscape photos - snow in the Rockies........

thanks for returning.

repeats just in case you missed them

Tim Holtz On-line classes:  Creative Chemistry 101 and 102 are being repeated this summer in case you missed them the first time around.  And then you will be ready for Creative Chemistry 103, debuting later this summer (August).

You will learn several techniques and ways to incorporate them into your projects.  Inks, embossing, paints, stencils, stains, sprays, the list goes on and on will be used in ways you never would have thought about.

Great classes for a great price!

You won't be disappointed!

Back next week!

random stuff on a friday morning

a new reason to buy cabinet cards.........

I turned this one into a watercolor journal.  The names are written on the back and I wanted to be able to see them so it took me a long time to decide what to do.  I had windows and hinges and binding materials, eyelets and papers, chipboard all out when it hit me to go simple.......
cut a chipboard piece the same size for the back, cover it with some TH wildflower paper, cut the inside papers down to fit, punch the holes with a cropodile, and bind with rings.
I also gave the entire cabinet card and back a complete coat of Glue and Seal to protect everything.
It's ready to use....... over and over again, thanks to the rings.

this is the inside back -  but it could also be a front cover.

A little plug......
