Make A-long supplies and tools

hello!

here's what you need if you plan on attending the Make A-longs at Scrappy Chic

several sheets of 81/2 x 11 and 12 x 12 cardstock: stick with one color (white, kraft, black)

decorative papers

adhesives:  wet and tape/glue stick
envelope maker
full size score board
paper trimmer
paper edge punch
corner rounder
scissors
ruler
pencil
1 1/2 yds ribbon

I will have several of the tools there but you will want your own if you have them!

interesting dies......

I went to our local scrapbook store last week to pick up some papers for my Livonia classes.  I decided that I did need some of the new Distress Oxide ink pads - just four.  I'm hoping my limited knowledge of the color wheel is correct.
Anyway they were completely sold out (I am finding out that just about everyone is for that matter!).
So I checked out some dies.
For your information........
the new mini tattered florals thinlets are very much like the older tattered florals garland strip (long gray).  So unless you really need the branch, save some money.

the white flowers were cut with the strip die
the pink were cut with the new thinlets dies

My strip die is just about on its last legs.  It is very difficult to remove the cut paper from the shapes so I am glad I purchased the new set.

I also purchased a word set.  Bonus!!!  not only do you get the word bars, you also get all of the letters!

They were a little larger than I expected but very usable!

I bought the Celebrations set.

And I can't remember if I showed you the start of my second are journal entry so here it is.  The page is much further along but I forgot to take pictures.  Watch for more soon.

it's Rodeo week here in Tucson.  We went a cowboy concert last night - reminded me of the Matt Wotroba concerts back home.  And the parade is this morning.  All the schools are closed today and tomorrow so everyone can attend the happenings!  Fun times!

how do they keep their shirts sooooo clean?

I'm a sucker for bunnies and any kind of stuffed creatures.  So......when I saw a pattern for this, I had to give it a try.  I've had the chenille for years (it was going to be part of a fabric book) and the felt, too.  Oh, and the pom-pom makers (in three sizes!).

He is just over 12" tall.  I embroidered his little face instead of using buttons - don't want buttons for little babies.  It wasn't difficult, well, turning him right side out took a little time.  The pattern called for a stretchier fabric but with patience and a chopstick, it all worked out.

I really like a project that I have everything that is needed to complete.  And I really like the way he turned out - soft and squishy.

and here is my first entry in my journal........

added doodles but had some trouble
with the pens writing smoothly over some of
the paint colors.

does anyone else "collect" black pens?
this pile doesn't include any of my black felt markers
and that is probably what I should have used in the first place.

The idea came from Kristina Werner's blog last week.

The photo does not begin to show the richness of the colors.  I am planning a card class with these.

And it is going to be an In-person class back in Michigan, I hope.  (that's a little hint....).

More details will follow next week - at least that is my plan.

Woriking on  this little book, too.  Trust me, it will be a little book!
