baking up some fun....

when its as hot as it is here in Tucson - triple digits - this is the only kind of baking to do....

in a little while, though, we will be enjoying our little portion of the ocean, well Lake Huron, but it's almost the same right?

little scenes

one of my favorite stamps (rubbermoon) on watercolor paper and a tiny canvas....

using just distress pads and a water pen

using a mix of distress oxide and distress pads with a water pen

and a little scene with my whittle dies (poppy stamps) and some punches

and one more scene with die memory box/poppy stamps along with an old Martha punch

all measure 2 x 2" or smaller.  sometimes its easier to fill a tiny space.
having fun on a hot day here in Tucson!

a few creations

It's been a while since posting, no excuse other that laziness.....
Here are some little pocket journals in two sizes.
It was just some folding, gluing and stitching.
One side has pockets on each page and the other side has two jornaling signatures.
Elastic closures.

A little accordion tag art, 100% inspired by Sugar Lump Studios, Nancy Maxwell.
The background paper was perfect for this project and probably 15 years old - time to use it up!
A few T. Holtz ancestors, doily pieces, buttons and german paper.
The art tags are tied to the background accordion so they can be removed for another time.

And another recycled glass bottle, this time sprayed with mirror paint.
The lady was rolled up, put inside and descreetly attached to the bottle.
Pearls, beads and mica were added, along with a handle.

Time to decorate the neighborhood......

no more glass in the recycle bin

Tucson no longer allows glass in the recycle bin.  You have to drive it to one of 5 locations in the city.  Once there, you have to put each piece into a machine similar to the bottle/can returns machines.

They have even hired "recycle police" to go through residents' bins to make sure there is none.  Residents get 3 chances before their bin is confiscated and a fine is paid.

I've deided to turn ours into art to hang from trees, set beside fences, and surprise people as they walk through the neighborhood.

tiny pieces of art inside.

the mica sparkles in the bottom

I sprayed part of this with mirror paint then sanded most of it off.

The jar with the little house is next!

And here is a little (4 x 5) little folio for someone's birthday.

Flat enough to mail in a regular envelope

lots of pockets, tucks and tags

The right side has a string closure.
The page opens up for more spots to fill
I do love this paper and it was perfect for this little giftie.
One sheet of 12 x 12 and some scraps.

Hope you are finding time to craft!

easter cards....

I do love creating with punches!!  This used a few circle punches and some oval dies.  the tie is a die from My Favorite Things and the whiskers are waxed linen.  Found the egg stamp in a very old Maggie Holmes set.

Went right back to my roots with this one - lots of stamping!  I used a few stamps from Red Lead, Maggie Holmes, and Hero Arts, dies from Memory Box, punches from Martha.  Painted the clouds with Twinkling H2Os, so they have a very iridescent quality. Ripped the green paper to make grass.

and good bye to an old friend.  it served me well for many years.
I've had a Big Shot Plus in reserve for this moment so no time was lost.

And we are starting to talk and plan for a trip to Michigan!!  Hopefully things will get continue as vaccinations roll out.
Patience...... we seem to be soooo close to getting to some normalcy.

finished!

watched a tutorial on how to make it and thought I would give a try.I started this Birthday card about a month ago.
finished it today.

closed - had the paw stamp for years!

measures 5 1/2 square so it will fit into an existing envelope

the belt closure

the invitation!  see where I got the components?
copied and cut the little dogs apart after gluing them to a piece of cardstock.
did the same with the Paw badge at the top for the closure.
turned out pretty cute!

And in a completely different direction......

a little pocket folder made with the dyed papers I posted earlier.

a few folds and collaging...

inside page/pockets

Working on another project so come on back for more!
thanks for stopping by.

Here are some dyed papers.  They are much more vibrant in person!  I used avacados for some, curry for another batch and coffee for the last.

a pop up birthday card!  Let me know if you would like to know how to make it.  Easy!!

And my St. Patrick's Day cards.  I do struggle with shaker cards but they turned out fine!

Remember this paper from Gr. 45?  It's over 5 years old.  No, I didn't have the paper, but I had the cards and it's time to use them up!

I finished a little Flip book, too, but that will be in another post!

By the way, I do not like DST.  Three hours difference is just too crazy!!  Of course that is from my end.  Having that extra hour of light  is a good thing, as long as the mornings are light too.

stop back again for more!

still here....

still here and doing some crafting but my room is in design/build mode.  I may soon have everything on shelves and in labeled containers.....no more working from packing boxes....

just watched some or T. Holtz new crayon/distress glaze video.  My head is spinning....so happy to have some of the new embossing dies.  Now I just have to look for my crayons.  Any I knew there was a reason I had 2 jars of the crystal embossing powders (the name is close to that).  hahahahahahahahaha

oh, how I wish I was still doing demos back at Scrappy Chic!  His samples were so beautiful and all my style.

I will be back very soon to show you what I have been up to and I can still say I struggle with shaker cards but the sequins I found at Dollar reminded me of a Pot of Gold and I have the shamrock embossing/die cut folder so I did make a few St. Patrick's Day cards.  After all, my last name is Donovan and I am Irish on March 17th!
