all done using watercolor pencil, a water brush and some distress ink |

and this one, too |
add some color with the pencil |
then use your paint brush to spread the color around. Try to get some color variation as you go.
Move to another spot and do it again.
Make sure your new spot is not next to the first one or they will bleed into each other.

sometimes i make a pallet by scribbling color onto a scrap piece of watercolor paper and pick the color up from that with my brush. this gives a lighter concentration of color.
and I am using the new Prima watercolor pencils for faces. they are great!
have fun and give it a try!!
Your little watercolor paintings are just darling! xo
