creating

I've been working on some projects again.  One took a lot of time distressing all of the edges and folds, but it was well worth it.  Then it needed some decorative paper - sixteen 3" squares to be exact.  And guess what paper has exactly 16 squares that are all found on one sheet of paper?  Okay, I will let you think about it for a while..........
and I will post a picture or two tomorrow.
thanks for stopping by today.

I will leave you with this.

That's the one, slithering off into the desert.....and look at the cool saguaro cactus shadow.

Tombstone AZ

We spent the day yesterday back in time.....1880's and walked the streets of Tombstone.
If you've seen the movie, yep, it's just like it.  If you haven't, imagine cowboys, saloons, horses, two stagecoaches, dance hall girls, and more just about everywhere you look -  real, too.  A lot of the people come dressed up and become the people of the day.  They do not get paid.  They just do it!

Great fun, great food, great music, and a great town.

Today we are headed to the Mission, Saguaro National Park, El Charro and what ever we can squeeze in.

Family is here and it is wonderful!

the big heap

Hi there!

Writing tutorials this time took a little longer than I expected.  There's a lot of information in this series.
Not only will you see learn how to make each project, there will also be tips, hints and ideas along the way to spark your creativity!
The supply lists seem long but you probably have just about everything you need and if not, make sure you read the directions before you go out to purchase - that's where the hints and tips may help out.

Everything is just about ready to go.  I want to proof read one more time.  And, there will be a limited number of kits available for each project, too.  All you need will be adhesives, inks, mister bottles, gesso and some common tools.

Yesterday we went to a new event in Tucson - The Big Heap!  It was held on the grounds of Old Tucson, the movie studio of all the old (and a few new) Western movies.  If you have ever seen a John Wayne western, you've seen Old Tucson.
The event was a juried affair of junk, vintage collections, arts/crafts and more.  Let's just say we had a great time checking out all the stuff........

just a small idea of what it was like.  I left with one small sterling silver chalice purchased at the booth in the top picture.  Ideas are starting......
Jeff's favorite was the booth in the last picture, lamp shades made from comics, maps and more.

keep an eye out here for the Bella Rouge Tutorials coming soon!

thanks for stopping by,

final Bella Rouge project

Here is the final project I will be offering using the Bella Rouge Collection by Prima.

It is actually the only one that requires this collection. All of the other projects can be made using your favorite papers, too.

I hope to have all of the tutorial information here by Friday.  Check back for more information.

And here are a few more things I have been working on this week.

The left side is what I started with using gesso, a stencil and distress inks.  The right side is after stamping and adding white and black gel pens.

An art journal page using re-inkers, stencils, stamps and glitter. Inspired by Shari Carroll.

the girls now have their legs and can sit anywhere!

And another art cube.  Watch for this tutorial here on the blog soon.

thanks for stopping by!

new visitors.

Look closely, our summer visitors have arrived.  This one was kind enough to stay still for a quick picture.

I didn't know they climbed trees.  He looks a lot bigger than he is, too.  He is really only about 4 inches long.

and, the cactus are continuing to bloom in all colors.

yes, that's a golf ball.  It wasn't there earlier.  The perils of living on a course.

I hope to return later with a fun project!
