too cold to be outside.....

It was a cold, snowy, windy couple of days so I decided to have a little fun......

a 2 x 3 canvas covered with gesso, cut out heart, die cut flower. then loaded with tons of oil pastels and more gesso.

finished piece - mounted onto an old piece of board that was colored the same way...randomly, using gesso, oil pastels and a stamped piece of tissue added at the end.  It measures about 4 x 6.

and these little collaged tags:  distressed, gessoed, stamped, water colored and little paper additions.

and the message.....

hope you're warm and safe!

hard to believe

it's 1/22/2021.....I had to write that date a lot today.  And every time I did, I asked myself this:

what happened to 2020?

one project into two......

A Sunday afternoon with football, and two little (2 x 3 ish) book boxes complete with pencils and journals were made.
I had a box so I made two - no sense in putting things away until they were finished.
Again, just used stuff I had, which adds to a feeling of accomplishment.

box bottom

box top

the little sticker on the left used to be brown but a little paint changed all that.

Interested in seeing how they were made?  Let me know or check back later this week for more.
Information I mean , not more little boxes - yet!

had to get these!!

they are snow molds!  they have a front/back.  you pack them with snow, then take them apart and you have snow penquins and people.
they are 8" tall.  some people put string inside and hang them on trees.  sooooo cute!  at Michaels marked down to $1.50.  I couldn't resist.
Of course they are for someone in Michigan, but I did think about filling them with cement or plaster of paris ( I have a box).  they would take a long time to dry.

oh, ignore the planner date - its an old one.

a treasure among the trash

okay - so it needs some work and a few knobs but it was on a trash pile and I couldn't resist!

This is what happened when I received a $10 coupon in the mail.  The cardinal die was a free gift!  I've seen lots of very pretty ideas using the wings and the little matchbook die jumped into the order.
Oh, I received another coupon, too.
Simon says stamp.......

First project using the die -  a little pop-up/out valentine!

All closed up.  There is an envelope die too but I used my mini envelope punchboard - sorry - forgot to take a picture....

Stop back again!
