I can't stop!!!

the doorbell rang.....I looked out......it was FEDEX!

new dies arrived!  The rosette is 10" and can go up to 12".  Easy to make!  The stars are very primative - perfect for most everything I make.  And the little house......how could I pass that up?

I am no longer opening anything from JoAnns or Michaels - at least for the month of October.  All I will need are adhesives and I won't need to look at emails or ads for that!!

and my week in the southwest......lots of pictures.

just rising over the Rincons

that's our house lit up

almost over

and back to a full moon.

these are all taken while I was waiting for the moon, just outside my back yard.  I live in the Sonoran desert, just outside Tucson Mountain Park.  I walk in the park daily.  It is truly a beautiful place.

thanks for stopping by.  Don't forget - want a witch?  just let me know and it's yours. Check earlier posts for more Halloween and card info!

November GR 45 cards

Hello there,

It's HOT here!  Triple digits are here for one more day they say.  HA!!  I will believe it when I feel it, but the nights have been pretty nice.  Nice enough for fires in the backyard.  Mesquite wood has a unique aroma and we have a lot of it nearby.

The Gr 45 November card tutorials will be on their way tonight or in the morning.  If you are interested but haven't purchased yet, just send an email or comment here and I will tell you how to get them.

I have two new toys, too.  They jumped in my hands the other day.  You all know how that happens!
You will see them soon.  I have played with them and now ideas are spinning in my head for the upcoming holidays.

And I have started work (okay play) on the cards and journals using the new line from Prima:  Royal Menagerie.  I will have a limited number of kits available but you may want your own, too.
A4 paper pad, 3 x 4 journal cards, and I did get a stamp from this line - no name but it is about 3 x 4 and is a small collage with a butterfly, bee and words (item 582555), it reminded me a lot of a T. Holtz collage stamp from his ATC collection.

Speaking of T. Holtz, how do you like the new violet distress ink?  I bet you purple lovers really like it a lot.

And did anyone purchase or play with any of the Eileen Hull dies this weekend at Scrappy Chic?  It looked like fun!

And finally,  LOVE THOSE SPARTANS!!!! Go Green!

new tool success!

I purchased a new tool for my Big Shot machine.  It is the Precision Cutting Plate for use with thin, detailed dies.  Here are the results using 60lb paper (thin cardstock from Michael's) and one pass through:

I am very happy with the results.  I recommend you watch some videos first, though. I did and it helped a lot.  Google how to use the sizzix precision plate.  I especially liked the video from the Sizzix Tech Guy.  He really gave some good hints in general.

This is what it looks like.  Caution:  this is not the cutting side.  Turn it over to the black side.

This is what the cutting side looked like after using it -  a lot like a regular cutting plate.  Make sure you read the "sandwich" details which are also given in several of the videos (Stephanie Barnard).

Now I think I will have to get the Sizzix brush and foam mat to pop out all the cut pieces.
have fun!

brewing up some fun!

nope, not done with the house by any means but it was time to craft!

today.......they are starting to make their appearances.

I really like the Character Construction Women and have seen some great ideas so I decided to give it a try.  These Halloween Witches are by no means finished but they are on their way.  And maybe when they are done, they may be on their way to your house (hint, hint!!).
Watch for more about that in the future.

I also love Jenni Bowlin papers and picked up a few of them at Scrappy Chic.  They have turned into a fun pocket book.  Well almost, I am waiting for my chipboard order to arrive.  That should be Tuesday and then this journal will get some covers and embellishments.  Could it be yours, too?  We shall see what the future brings with this.

And, the Graphic 45 November cards are finished (except the glitter).  Directions will get written early this week and be available for purchase.  If you have already purchased them, watch for them in your inbox soon.

Hope you are enjoying your days!  Thanks for stopping by.
