I just love being able to go to the "Card Box" when I have family/friends I want to send a little hug to.  These are all set to go.  After all why do we make them if we don't use them.  It's not like we're gonna run out so send a card TODAY!  Give someone a reason to smile....

see you  back here for more pics.

Today is Mask making day.

Happy Fall Y'all!

You probably know that Halloween and Valentines Day are two of my favorite crafting times of the year.
This Flip and Twist card was easy to make and uses scraps (again!).
I will post directions soon.  So collect your papers, including a piece of 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock that matches your scraps, some ribbon, adhesives, ruler, pencil and bone folder.

And another little gratitude journal.  We all need to remember that we have things to be thankful for this year....lots of pockets and flips to hold those thoughts.

And how about this gift holder - perfect for BOOing your family, friends and neighbors.  Again, a nice thought everyone would love to receive.  Fill it with goodies, hang it on their door, ring the bell and run!!
Just the right size for a few little treats.

This may become a kit with all the papers needed for one and directions so you can re-create more.  What do you think? Interested??  Halloween/Fall/Thanksgiving/Christmas themes......
Let me know if you are and I will get started!

We finally got some rain last night and watched a spectacular lightning show with surround sound on our front porch.  Something we never tire of here in the old pueblo......

these little guys (no pun intended) measure about 3 x 3.
they do require thin paper - I used copy paper and newspaper.  you could use wrapping paper or create your own designs with inks and stamps.  How fun would that be?
add a paperclip to the back and they can be put just about anywhere.
Oh, they hold a giftcard, too!

lazy days here - too hot to do much more.
Want some live music?  Check out Circle TV - every saturday night a live concert from the Grand Old Opry.  Don't like country music?  Don't worry - it's still very enjoyable!
Tonight's performers are Luke Bryan and Darrius Rucker.
Even with the Covid - Opry hasn't missed a live Saturday night performance, thanks to this new network.  You can find out more by googling.  googling -  a new verb!

Can't believe September is almost here - ending the summer that wasn't.......

weekend project - Gratitude Journal

I found an almost done journal project over the weekend.  The journal was finished and even the "hard work" of choosing and cutting all the papers was finished - actually attached to each page with paper clips.  I needed to distress the edges and adhere the paper.
Created a few pockets, too, and finished off a Prima Paper pad I've had for over 2 years.  I do enjoy using up scraps!

this is how the cover began.....

and how it ended up

pockets on the left and center pages
tuck spots top and bottom

flip the page and you find another flip with pocket, twine and a belly band

right side mirrors left side - makes paper decisions soooo easy!

need to finish the back, add tags for journaling and it will be complete.
Interested?  It is for sale.....

more little gifts and going in a different direction

these little mason jar pockets are soooo much fun to make.  I used my envelope punch board, washi tape, stamps and stickers.  also added some twine to the "lids".  Then I filled them with tags and more.  The stickers must be 10 yrs old so I added some glue to help them stick.  I also did that with the washi tape.
The pockets were stamped.  I bet they could also be embossed.
And, using the same technique with different size papers makes different size jars.  Oh, you can make little jar cards, too.
Now I'm curious to see what I can make with the tiny envelope maker - tiny mason jars??

Then switched directions and did some slow stitching and made this little fob.
Attach it to keys, purse, hang it from a knob or hook.
 It's a little hug on a ring.
Vintage tatting (great grandma left me a suitcase full of scraps).  Vintage paper flowers, burlap, buttons and of course a heart.  Blanket stitched around the entire little piece.  Oh, stamped a little word too.

Now all the materials are in a little box, waiting for another to be made.

Two fun little projects that require nothing but scraps!
And two fun ways to stay busy and beat the heat!!

Why,  I could combine the two and make a jar pocket and with a little fob inside.....
