random stuff on a friday morning

a new reason to buy cabinet cards.........

I turned this one into a watercolor journal.  The names are written on the back and I wanted to be able to see them so it took me a long time to decide what to do.  I had windows and hinges and binding materials, eyelets and papers, chipboard all out when it hit me to go simple.......
cut a chipboard piece the same size for the back, cover it with some TH wildflower paper, cut the inside papers down to fit, punch the holes with a cropodile, and bind with rings.
I also gave the entire cabinet card and back a complete coat of Glue and Seal to protect everything.
It's ready to use....... over and over again, thanks to the rings.

this is the inside back -  but it could also be a front cover.

A little plug......

hello there!

I'm finishing up some projects and will post very soon.

funny story.........it's a small world.......
went on Artist open studio tour this weekend:  just that - many artists open their studios, talk, share and hope you purchase.....
heard "Michigan" from a couple and asked why.....from there - Northville area..
paraphrasing...oh, my wife worked there, do you know of Stampeddler
  yes they answered
  we're from Farmington
next came......my 1st wife taught in Farmington for many years.....
oh, what is her name?

OMG,  I worked with her for 25 years!!  We continued to share stories and names......

I will be gone for a few weeks and not be posting anything after Friday.  Check back in June......

Keep an eye out and an ear open......you never know who you may see.....

Oh, the Studio Tour was amazing and the artists are, well.......artists....of every kind.

after signing off on Saturday, one thing led to another and I needed to get to an ending spot before posting some finished projects for National Scrapbook Day.

So..........as soon as things are complete (and they will be today), they will be posted here!

What to look forward to?
How about some little watercolored notebooks - hint:  it's a cinch with the Cinch - and Prima!
Bleach and some old stamps
Watercolored Wildflowers.......

the paperbag book will take a little longer but the hard work is done:  deciding on the papers.

Really, check back tonight for pics!

wild flowers con't

flowers are all painted and dry.  I just layered them onto a dark base!
I may run the base through an embossing folder before attaching the flowers and then layer this piece onto a card base. Add some fibers, maybe a tag and it is complete and ready to mail!

I may add some gloss glue and seal to the flower heads for some add shine.

And the start of my mini paperbag book.......

you will have to come back tomorrow for more!

elegant card in the making

not sure how much I will be able to add today.

and they arrived!

well, the want became a strong need and the next thing I knew - they were ordered and arrived!!

What?  The Tim Holtz Wildflower die set and the Mixed Mediz 2 die set.

The Funkie Junkie Boutique carries lots of great things and usually at a discount.  They ship fast (my order was shipped the same day I ordered)!

If you have a want that turns into a need, and can't find it at your local store, check them out!

And don't forget, tomorrow is National Scrapbook Day - which includes lots of techniques, projects and ideas for anyone in the paper/craft world.  It's not "just for scrapbookers" anymore!

Lots of on-line specials -  check out Prima with me! I may even have a post or two! especially with my new tools!

And to anyone going to the Mega Meet in Novi - have fun!

Kentucky Derby Day, too!  The most exciting 2 minutes in sports!
